Fujisan Products is developing a series of products inspired by Mount Fuji, a symbol of Japan, in order to widely spread the appeal of this mountain.
They have produced many hit products, including "Blue Mt. Fuji Curry" and "Blue Mt. Fuji Curry Bread."
"Aoi Fujisan (draft)" is a beer-like beverage that has been under consideration for commercialization for some time.
It took more than a year from conception and planning to completion.
The blue colour, reminiscent of the mountainside of Mt. Fuji, is created using the natural pigment spirulina, and the snow on Mt. Fuji is represented by the bubbles.
This is the latest product in the Blue Mt. Fuji series, and uses water from Mt. Fuji for the brewing process.
■ Produced by an award-winning brewery
Medium-light type with a refreshing and fruity scent
The secret to the liquid's blue color is the natural coloring, spirulina pigment.
By using a water-soluble natural pigment extracted from the blue-green algae spirulina, we were able to successfully express the vivid, clear blue color of the deformed image of Mount Fuji.
The aroma is characterized by a fruity hop scent. The bitterness of the hops has been suppressed, and the flavors of citrus and berries have been brought out for a refreshing, dry and light drink.
It is easy to drink and has a taste that is widely loved.
The beer was brewed by Far Yeast Brewing.
The planning and development staff negotiated with over 20 craft beer factories in and around Yamanashi Prefecture over the course of a year, and decided to commission the company to manufacture the beer, based on its numerous award-winning history and high level of technical expertise.
By using advanced brewing techniques and adopting a unique method of secondary fermentation in the bottle, this product can be distributed without refrigeration . In addition, the product has a best-before date of one year from the date of brewing , which is longer than that of regular craft beer.
Furthermore, the bottle for this new "Blue Fujisan (draft)" has an additional film label called a shrink label added to the conventional brown bottle, which allows the liquid, which is sensitive to heat, to be protected from external light and other elements. This makes it possible to preserve quality not only through the brewing technology, but also through the label, resulting in a product that prioritizes quality preservation, preventing deterioration to the greatest extent possible without affecting the liquid itself from the outside world.
■Simultaneous release of stemware in the shape of Mount Fuji, with export to overseas in mind
To coincide with the release of "Blue Mt. Fuji (Raw)", we asked Tajima Glass (headquarters: Edogawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tajima Daisuke), a manufacturer of Edo Kiriko glass, to develop a stem glass in the shape of Mt. Fuji, which is extremely rare even in the glass industry.
We have focused on the glass craftsmanship that has been handed down since the Edo period at Tajima Glass, in which each piece is carefully made by hand by skilled artisans, and have created a Mount Fuji stem glass with a shape that is unlike any other in the world.
In addition to the shape of the “Blue Mt. Fuji (Raw)” glass evoking the image of the beautiful blue of Mt. Fuji, the surface of the glass uses a specially created molding method unique to Tajima Glass called the “TAJIMA Twist Mall technique,” which is not normally possible for other companies to create.
In addition, after putting glass seeds into a molding mold, the glass is twisted and blown into a forming mold, which creates lines on the surface of the glass that resemble the climbing trail of Mount Fuji.
This is a stem-type glass that thoroughly pursues the essence of Mount Fuji.
Once the glasses are on sale, they will also be sold as a set with the "Blue Mt. Fuji Draft" beer.
